History
Broadway United Methodist Church has a rich legacy of serving Christ and answering His call to transform both our local community and the wider world. Since 2003, Broadway teams have served in Africa, Honduras, Roatan, Eastern Kentucky, and Stockton, California.
In 2012, Broadway Away Missions (BAM) was formed to deepen that commitment and to support Broadway missionaries Justin and Ashley Guest in their work abroad.
About Our Ministry
At the heart of Broadway Away Missions is our desire to minister to the needs of others and share Christ’s love for the world. We believe that God calls us to serve as He works through us—transforming our community and the world around us.
The BAM team oversees mission trips and service projects both locally and abroad, while building meaningful partnerships with ministries that are already doing faithful work in their communities. Together, we support, send, and serve.
Our responsibilities include:
- Organizing and supporting mission trips and projects at home and abroad
- Developing and managing fundraising efforts for BAM ministries
- Partnering with existing ministries and supporting both their mission and the communities they serve
- Raising awareness of and maintaining relationships with Broadway missionaries and global ministry partners
- Recruiting and preparing individuals for mission trips
Currently, Broadway Away Missions organizes and sends teams to two mission sites each year—Stockton, CA and Henderson Settlement in southeastern Kentucky.
We are currently serving:
- Justin & Ashley Guest at The Center in Stockton, CA
- Henderson Settlement in Laurel Fork Valley, KY
- Project Manuelito in Honduras

- Assistance for local ministries serving the Bowling Green community
