Praying When You Don’t Feel Like God is Listening

October 17, 2021

Ever notice how when you’re in a crowd, in a noisy spot or in an argument you talk louder? When things get loud, our natural tendency is to get louder. It’s been said we shout because we feel like we aren’t being heard. It’s human nature to try and raise my voice over the noise.

But there is another way. It’s learning to listen for the still, small voice of God. The life of prayer pushes against all our natural tendencies, especially when we’re under pressure. But the result of our natural tendencies is anxiety, fear, conflict and lack of peace.

This series of messages is about how to respond in prayer to all of life’s pressures. We’re shifting the impulse from making our voices heard to learning to hear that still small voice. So, take a deep breath, quiet your heart and join us for the peace of the still, small life.
